Why Reiki?
Reiki sees the whole you. You are not parts. You are whole.
Reiki healing builds back capacity — our capacity to feel, to function, to be in right relationship with ourselves, our loved ones, and our world.
Reiki practice tends to the whole you by stimulating the body’s capacity to self-balance and self-regulate. Through biodynamic feedback, reiki supports systemic equanimity throughout your entire being. Reiki sessions are opportunities for deep rest and deep listening, a chance to regain your natural restorative flow.
When we are overwhelmed and don’t know where to turn, reiki can bring ease and insight. When we feel sluggish, reiki can ignite; when we are spinning, reiki can bring calm. Reiki sessions are gentle, non-invasive and can do no harm.
When you don’t have the time, space, or support to process the effects of all you encounter, all you are carrying, it piles up. Over time, a physiologic, biodynamic, and emotional latency can begin to drag you down. Our innately responsive internal and energetic systems lose capacity. Reiki builds back capacity — our capacity to feel, to function, to be in right relationship with ourselves, our loved ones, and our world.
Wounds need tending; everything from an old sports injury, to a painful new loss, to chronic conditions and difficult inherited patterns - all of it needs our loving attention. The legacy of our wounds — long standing and little understood, or fresh and all too apparent — needs to be acknowledged, metabolized, and when ready, liberated, released.
This a practice to return to over time. We are only able to process physical, emotional and spiritual challenges when we are able to return to a state of restorative calm. A constantly activated nervous system blocks us from our innate capacity to rest and repair. Returning to a restorative state of equanimity with regularity (even fleetingly and far between!) makes us feel better, and when we feel better, we function better, and we make better choices.
When we are in a state of clear high vibration energetic flow:
our body thanks us by doing its regular work of repair and maintenance
our loved ones thank us for our capacity to be present and supportive
our world thanks us for our uncluttered capacity to respond with humanity and humility
What in you needs tending?
What is reiki? Reiki is a system for working with the energetic body that was codified over 100 years ago in Japan. It is taught with reverence, passing the same essential knowledge and energetic attunements experientially from teacher to student. Reiki (rei-ki) is usually translated as universal life energy or flow. It is what makes the wind blow and the grass grow.
