My Approach - simple, silent, transformative. Sessions are collaborative. We welcome reiki to amplify your internal wisdom.
We work gently, allowing your body to lead us where support is most needed. My practice combines very light touch with the hovering of hands for biodynamic feedback; I work from the established Usui and Earth Evolution reiki hand positions to support your uniquely presenting needs.
When you are in a clear state of high vibration energetic flow, your body thanks you by doing its regular work of repair and maintenance. Your loved ones thank you for your capacity to be present and supportive, and your world thanks you for your uncluttered capacity to respond with humanity and humility.
IN A SESSION
What you can expect
Sessions are 1 hour. We begin with an optional short verbal check-in and/or meditation. What has brought you to reiki, what do you hope to shift? Maybe you can articulate something tangible and specific…or maybe you can’t. Sometimes all we know is that we need something - relief, space, support.
You may also choose to remain in complete restorative silence before, during and after your session. Every session is different. Every session has benefits.
In-person sessions. You will receive reiki fully clothed on a massage table via light touch (think of a butterfly resting on a flower petal) & hovering of hands in the energetic fields close to the physical body. During a session, many people slip into a deeply relaxing liminal state, or even fall asleep. Some may feel a range of emotions bubble up, some may experience a release in the form of laughter and/or tears. Our time together is gentle and confidential. You will be fully supported to shift whatever you are ready to shift.
Virtual sessions. We connect via zoom, and you can choose a quiet comfortable spot at home to receive, in bed, on a couch, the floor. Virtual sessions combine the structure of a short guided meditation with distance energy work; you can receive the benefit of reiki practice no matter where you are located.
Direct touch is not necessary to receive the benefit of reiki. For in-person sessions you may opt for only hovering hands if you prefer. Virtual sessions can be just as powerful as in-person sessions.
We close with 5 minutes of quiet sitting. Time to process and integrate before you move on with your day is critical. This can be in silence or an opportunity for questions and dialogue.

How often should you come
We are all unique but most of us need several sessions to address our challenges. I suggest an initial 3 session approach - ideally weekly or bi-weekly -which allows you to fully open to receiving and gives you time to sense how the benefits are supporting your needs.
How to prepare
Reiki will meet you where you are and you need not DO anything to prepare. For your comfort, here are a few suggestions:
wear loose comfortable clothes
eat lightly & hydrate beforehand
clear space in your schedule for quiet time directly after a session, even a 5 minute walk before heading back to work/life/family will make a difference

Receiving reiki is similar to massage or other body work in that we work systematically with different areas of your body but the quality of your experience is unique and indescribable…you really need to experience it for yourself!

Reiki is a lineage of working with the energetic body that was codified over 100 years ago in Japan. It is taught with reverence, passing the same essential knowledge and energetic attunements experientially from teacher to student. The word reiki is translated from Japanese to mean universal life energy or flow. It is what makes the wind blow and the grass grow!
